Metalorganics
Organometallics are any chemical compound containing bonds between carbon and a metal. Amspec supplies one type of organometallics called metal acetylacetonates. These are chemicals where the acetylacetonate anion, C5H7O2-, forms a complex with a transition metal ion such as Fe+3 or Co+3. Metal acetylacetonates are often used as hydrocarbon oxidation catalysts, polymerization catalysts, crosslinkers, glass pigments, curing agents, and stabilizers. Many industries utilize the versatility of these compounds including glass, plastics, acrylics, and adhesives.
