Flame Retardants
Amspec's historical focus has been on antimony based flame retardants. Even though we have expanded our scope beyond flame retardants, we have not lost any of our expertise in this area. Antimony trioxide is a white, odorless, fine powder. As a flame retardant, it is a synergist working in combination with halogens such as bromine or chlorine. It is usually produced by roasting ores such as stibnite (antimony sulfide) or by oxidizing antimony metal. The principal ore deposits in the world are found in China, South Africa, Bolivia, Mexico, and the nations of the former Soviet Union. Currently, China is the most significant player in the global antimony market. Please review the technical datasheets below for more information.
